Credenza Makeover

So I am putting my organization challenge on a brief pause because I got the redecorating bug. I get this every couple of months, but more recently, I have been feeling the pull to change my style to a more Mid Century Modern Farmhouse.

With that being said, I started selling half of my decor on Offer Up, and browsing for a credenza. These were my inspiration photos!

I found this guy for $30! When I brought it home I knew that the natural wood blended too closely with the color of our floor and the laminate wood look just wasn’t flowing in our space.

I decided to paint it, and quickly made a trip to Target to purchase some good chalk paint. One thing I love about chalk painting, is that you can paint almost any surface and any material. I chose a new color and brand by Velspar called, Mirage. After painting this beasty, I realized that the warm wood tones in my floor were bringing our the purple and blue in the grey. Needless to say, I didnt like it enough to keep it.

So back to the drawing board. I went to Home Depot and purchased my favorite brand Rustoleum with the color called “Charcoal”.

I am so glad that I decided to take the extra time and get it right. I used Velspars Wax to seal it.

Stay tuned for all the other changes!!
