It’s that time of year, tax season! I don’t know about you, but tax season always stresses me out. There are so many questions like: what program should I use, how to file without messing up, and the list goes on! As a small business owner, pastor, and mom of three, I need as much help as possible. Orange County United Way’s OC Free Tax Prep program offers free tax preparation to Orange County households that earned less than $60,000 in 2020. They also provide tools to help you file, like the tax credit calculator and document checklist, and a free tax hotline that help answer questions you may have regarding your taxes.
Here is the Information
- Head to OC FREE TAX PREPS website.
- Answer simple questions
- Take photos of your id, w-2 form(s), and/or your 1099 form(s)
- Upload those photos to a secure portal
- Schedule a call with the tax preparer to discuss your situation
- The tax preparer fills out your tax forms to help you get the maximum refund
- The tax preparer calls you to review the results
- You review and approve the tax return
- The tax preparer electronically files your return
