Free DIY Garland

So I feel like I’m all about the DIY’s right now! Maybe because Christmas gives me all the feels and I am super motivated to try new things, or maybe its because we are on a budget this year so DIY’s are the best way to spruce up the house without breaking the bank. Either way.. I am loving it. I hope you are too!!

Did you check out my DIY Advent Calendar? We are starting to pull from the pockets tomorrow and its not too late to start yours too!!

The reason I love this DIY is because its EASY, FREE, and QUICK. In my mind, that is the perfect combo! I have also added video tutorial for the first time on this post! I hope that makes following the steps a little easier.

You can also use this year round… just go outside, find your nearest bush or tree and clip away. I have made Eucalypus Garland this way, Olive Tree Garland, and even a Magnolia Garland!

We live in Cali, so for Christmas I can’t just walk outside and clip our forest trees because well, there aren’t any! šŸ˜‰ So I head to my local Home Depot where you can pick up FREE tree clippings!! They literally have a bin full every time I go. For this garland, I picked up about 4 bundles of clippings.

Materials Needed:

  • Floral Wire – You can purchase this at your local craft store or online here
  • Tree Clippings from outside, or visit your local Home Depot for your FREE tree clippings

Step One:

Clip Trees outside or pick up your FREE clippings at your local Home Depot.

Step Two:

Clip smaller pieces off your large bundle.

Step Three:

Overlap pieces of greenery and wrap floral wire around to secure. Repeat this step until you have reached your desired length.
