Home Organization- Laundry Room

If you have subscribed to my organization challenge, you have my full home organization checklist. If you haven’t joined the challenge, be sure to subscribe to receive the checklist.

Here are my top three pieces of advice for organizing any space:

A place for everything, and everything will be in it’s place.

If it doesn’t have a place, rethink keeping it. Can you get rid of something and replace it?

One Room at a Time

Focus on one room and one space at a time.

Love The Space You Live in

If you love your space, you will be that much more likely to want to keep it organized and cleaned.

With that being said, I know many of us are on major budgets. You can touch up your spaces for little to nothing. You can see how I touched up our laundry room a few years ago.

You can win this Laundry Room Decal by entering below.

Touch up the space. Add a new plant, fill in nail holes and clean the baseboards. The little things go a long way!

First step to organizing your laundry room is removing everything. Go through old soaps. A little tip. You don’t need more than one of any kind of cleaner. Try and minimize it to under 5 bottles for laundry. If you keep your cleaners in your laundry room, go through these as well. Throw away old cleaners you don’t use, or haven’t used in a while.

Now that you know what you have, take a trip to Target, Dollar Store, or order some organization bins! This doesn’t have to be an expensive purchase. You can buy bins at the dollar store. These are the bins we use.

You can organize your items by category as well. Put labels on the bins to remember and help family members know where things go.

Invest in a Laundry Basket that best works for your space. We have a very narrow and small laundry room.We purchased this rolling Laundry Basket last year and it helps keep us organized and makes transferring laundry quick and easy.

Pro Tip: Try and keep things off the floor. Purchase command hooks or heavier duty hooks from Home Depot to hang brooms, and ladders. This will help keep from things “piling up”.

Up Keep: Try doing one load of laundry a day to keep up with organization.

And there you go. You have a new clean and organized laundry room. Now maybe we can keep up with the laundry. 😉
