Our Laundry room is the smallest everrrrrrr! Im serious. Like 5 x 5 small, but hey I HAVE a laundry room and I am so thankful for it. It gets the job done if you know what I mean ;). When I did my quick makeover a few months I added some paint, took down old metal shelves that were covered in junk, and painted the door blue… its crazy how a little paint and simple touches can change a room completely. It’s especially helpful when you’re on a budget and no extra money for home projects. These simple, easy changes make BIG differences! Do you remember my bathroom makeover? GAHHH I am still dying over that makeover.
After finishing our laundry room, it was missing “something”. But I wasn’t sure what that something was. After a few days of empty walls (guys nothing bothers me more than empty walls), I decided a DIY sign would be perfect. I’ve shared this method before, but this is one of my favorite signs to date!!
1×10 Pine Common Board (I got mine from Home Depot)
Printer & Computer
*Hint: Have Home depot cut the plank at the size you want it so you don’t have to worry about cutting it when you get home.
Step One: Download this Laundry PDF. (Or create your own on Word)
Step Two: Print your downloaded sheets
Step Three: Paint your board white. I used two coats to ensure coverage.
Ps… I had the cutest little helper for this project. Don’t ya think?!
Step Four: Place them on the board face up to figure out spacing.
Step Five: Doing one letter at a time, use a fine pointed pen to trace the letters. Push hard enough for the paper to start to rip.
Step Six: You will see the imprint of the letters on your white board.
Step Seven: Use black paint and paint brush to fill in the letters.
Step Eight: Sand down the letters to give the sign an old farmhouse look.
This little sign completed this room. Now if I would only enjoy it enough to keep up with laundry :/. Probably not.
Have you done this project? Share it with me on social media! I would love to see it!
