Mantel Makeover

If you have been watching my instagram stories, you know that I was itching for a change in our living room. For Christmas, I want to go towards a simplistic, modern farmhouse look. I knew our faux fireplace would be the perfect place to start. This makeover cost me $8!

Before AFTER

If you’re looking to change up your home, remember you can make big changes my changing small things. By repainting the color of the slats and mantel, the whole space changed.

This fireplace was more rustic farmhouse, and since I wanted a “cleaner”, more simple look, I painted the wooden slats all white. I used Benjamin Moore “Simply White” to match our wall color.

After painting the slats, I changed up the mantel. I did the first floating shelf when we first moved into the house, so I knew adding a new one would be easy.

You can make this floating motel for less than $10. It is a super simple DIY that almost anyone can do. I wanted it to look like a floating beam. I was so happy how it turned out. check it our HERE.

Are you one of those decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving people? Every year I feel like I add everything earlier. But I’m not mad about it. I will be adding all of my Christmas Decor next week. You can check out last years decor here.
