Remodel A Bathroom on a Budget

We are so excited to be remodeling our bathroom! I am even more excited to be remodeling in partnership with Habitat For Humanity Restore! If you are in need of a remodel, and asking yourself,  how can I remodel a bathroom on a budget, Habitat for Humanity is the cheapest, and easiest way to remodel on a budget! Most likely there is one near you!!

I think the key to remodeling using all Habitat items, is going in without an expectation. We are going into the project knowing we have a certain style, and vibe, but also going in with an open mind. I am so excited to play around with ideas, and get creative with this project.  You can check out my inspiration board here!

Why We are doing a Bathroom Remodel?!!

If you are following along with stories, you’ve seen the before and after of our bathroom and the small cosmetic fixes we have done along the way. We decided it was time for a budget friendly remodel when we saw the water damage and possible mold situation. This is how we updated our bathroom last year!

Why Habitat?

I am so excited to work with Habitat for Humanity! I love that they stand for the oppressed and believe in helping others succeed. A percentage of the money you spend goes towards building homes and helping others find affordable housing! It doesn’t get much better than that! You can use my code Taylor for 15% off items in the store!

Plans for Bathroom

This bathroom remodel is a complete renovation. We want more vanity space for storage and getting ready, new tile and tub to replace the original 1929 bathtub. Then will be pulling the large mirror off the wall, and possibly taking the door out and replacing it with a barn door or pocket door. Our hope is to open up the back wall to create a bathroom closet, and refinish all the flooring as well.

Supplies

The first time we visited Habitat, we found our floor tile, wall tile, and bathtub!!! I couldn’t believe it! Everything was right in our budget, affordable, and would go perfectly in our bathroom.

Here is what we got:

We chose the large subway tile. We purchased all of our tile for $45! If that isn’t budget friendly, I don’t know what is.

We found a bathtub for $250 and it was half off, making it $125. This tub is porcelain and has a square look to it which goes with our modern vibe.

We found matte black square tiles for $20. Cue the gasps. Here is my inspiration for the perfect bathroom. I had so many people say that black tile shows everything so we are still contemplating the flooring. Let me know what you think below!

On our second trip we found our lighting! Look at this cute modern fixture. It was only $20!

On my last trip, I found my vanity!!! I chose the all white one with the modern white counter top! I will probably switch out the hardware, or might spray paint them, but look at this gorgeous piece! It was only $799.

Next step

Our next step is to continue looking for supplies like a new window, grout, trim, possibly tile, and other supplies. I am so excited to take you along the process and show you all the DIY details and How to’s. If we can do this on a budget, you can too!!

I hope you stick around for the process and share your own projects and finds with me! You can Remodel your bathroom on a budget too!
